Commercial Printers and Their Printing Services

Besides designing and printing, there are many other services that PrintArt offers to its clients. In this article, you will be familiarized with the different printing services that you can available at commercial printers.

Proofreading
Some of the good commercial printers offer proofreading as part of their extra printing services. Usually, the printers would print the content that is provided to them on the leaflets or brochures, but if you want your company image to be impeccable, then it is better to have it proofread. Not only are they going to go over the content to find mistakes that had been overlooked but will also advise you on the art that is going to be used in the print material. Proofreading will help eliminate the common grammatical errors found in any text – spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Badly written content event though coupled with a good art background is still going to give a bad impression about the company for whom the material is being printed.

Packaging Delivery of Print Items
One of the best things about hiring a reputable printing firm is that besides the printing services they would be willing to serve you in other ways to make life easier. The professional commercial printer knows what kind of care is required when handling freshly printed material; therefore it would work to your advantage to have the printing company deliver the material that you got printed from them. Only reputable printers would be willing to offer dispatch services.

Photography Services
A commercial printer would be offering printing services for sure, but how many of them offer services of a professional photographer onboard? A professional photographer can really outshine your leaflets and brochures by adding custom photographs related to your business or product. A professional photograph that is taken especially for the purpose of marketing can be far better than computerized graphics.

Stock Control Services
Many wise businessmen do not use their marketing gimmicks all at once and they release it at a steady pace so that the effect on the consumers remains for a long time. Getting print material printed on a large scale is however economical but that doesn’t mean that you need to deploy all that print material in one go. Besides the usual printing services, some worthy commercial printers offer stock control to their clients in which they can manage the stock of printed material for them.

Look no further than PrintArt for the best printing services in the country.

It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

Saving Files For Commercial Print Output

When working in graphic layout programs such as QuarkXpress and Adobe InDesign saving files properly is crucial for proper print quality. Missing fonts or pictures could turn a creative project into any designers’ worst nightmare. Start by generating folders for every job created. Place all photos, graphics, and fonts in the folder.

Make sure to include the layout file in the folder as well. There should be only one folder for that project. Saving projects in individual folders makes life easier and makes everything move much smoother. Make sure all photos that are used in the layout are at least 300dpi and converted to CMYK for the best output possible. If the layout has bled, (areas of color or objects that run off the page) make sure to create the page size one-quarter inch larger than the final size.

When working in Adobe Illustrator to create custom logos for clients it is extremely important to save two different files. There should be a working file with layers and a file that is prepared for the printing company or the layout program that it will be placed into. Save the file that will be used for the printer or layout program as an Illustrator .eps format and create all type to outlines; this prevents any font issues from occurring. The file should now be ready for print output.

Adobe Photoshop is another program that can be used to create projects for print output. Be sure to flatten all layers, convert to CMYK, and save as a Photoshop .tif file. Since the invention of the .PDF file format, (portable document format) all of these steps can be avoided by creating a high resolution .PDF file. Although this seems much faster and easier it does not always solve the problem. Check which file formats the printing company recommends using before submitting any files for commercial printing output.

It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

Commercial Printing Basics

Printing for paper, fabric, ceramic, and other materials are now very easy and affordable. This is the main reason why more and more people are trying to venture into the commercial printing business. It has become the gold standard to rely on professional services from companies like PrintArt rather than going to your local print shops.

With the big demand for this industry, one must be very familiar with the commercial printing basics. To fully understand the quality service and the competitive nature of the business, one must get to know the right questions to ask.

Understanding the basics of commercial printing is learning the jargons associated with the business. The terms RGB as well as CMYK are just some of the words that you would usually encounter in commercial printing basics. More than just jargons, there are paperweight, color options, and file preparations.

RGB and CMYK are colors that are essential in running a commercial printing business. RGB stands for the colors Red, Blue, and Green or simply known as the primary colors in printing. On the other hand, the CMYK is for the colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (K means Key – black being the key color when printing).

Aside from the color, you must also consider the resolution of the image as well. This refers to the number of dots for every inch of the image printed. The bigger the resolution of your image is, the higher would be the quality of the print. More often than not, computer monitors are displaying only 72 DPI or dots per inch. Meanwhile, the result can have at least 300 DPI or even more.

Thanks to the different imaging software available, you can now clear up the images that look fuzzy and stretched. If you want a printed result that will always retain the image quality that customers are looking for, it would be best if you would only print images that have 300 DPI or more. Always remember that the lower the image resolution is the inferior would be the result.

You’ve now been equipped with the basic knowledge necessary to become a commercial printing expert. Use this information when talking with PrintArt about printing products and services for your business.

Hopefully, this has shed a little light on the advantages of PrintArt. It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

The Essential Guide To Wooden Flooring

Timber flooring can strike just the right note in any style of home – it looks natural, warm and rustic in a country cottage and, in a contemporary setting, it can add texture and create an organic feel. Moreover, in both modern and period homes, the various vinyl and laminated versions can be an excellent and practical choice.

Wooden flooring is under constant technical development; the latest ranges have tough, long-lasting finishes and are straightforward to install. There’s no need to worry about gaps between boards; the click-and-lock systems mean the task can be handled by an experienced DIY-er, although most suppliers will also offer an installation service.

All types of wooden flooring can be laid over practically any sub-floor, including floorboards, concrete, old tiles or a boarded surface, as long as the surface is sound, dry and flat. Reclaimed timber flooring, however, is a slightly different proposition as it won’t be neatly cut to size and it’s also difficult to judge what it will look like once it’s been finished. Take advice from the supplier on how much to buy and which finish choosing, and always ensure that you’ve bought enough – it will be tiresome to track down similar boards elsewhere. It’s also worth experimenting with cleaning and/or finishes on a spare board before installation.

As it is an integral part of the room and colour scheme, you should choose your timber floor at the start of the redecoration or refurbishment project. According to how light or dark the floor is, it can affect how paint and paper colours appear. That’s why it is important to look at a wide selection of Wooden Sample Boards when comparing one product against another.  Sample Boards give you real, actual product to look at, feel and compare.  It’s as good as seeing the final product and that is the purpose of good quality Sample Boards from PrintArt. Although some timber flooring, such as parquet, solid hardwood and reclaimed boards, can be darkened or lightened by sanding down and re-varnishing, it’s not a job you are likely to want to do very often.

Types of Timber Flooring

Solid Wood

Made from the named timbers, these are solid all the way through. Some types are suitable for installation as the structural floor without needing a sub-floor underneath.

Reclaimed Timber

This can be bought as bundles of planks, boards or panels from reclamation and salvage yards, or as whole floors from timber-flooring specialists. Prior to installation, reclaimed timber flooring can look very uninspiring. Once it’s laid, however, it can look incredible.

Multi-Layered or Engineered

A plywood or veneered base, built up with several layers of crisscrossed hard or softwood boards and topped with a layer of the named timber. The construction of this flooring gives it strength and stability, so it’s a good alternative to solid-wood flooring.

Laminate

Made by producing an image of wood on a layer of plastic, which is laminated to a board backing. Top-quality versions have convincing textured finishes and are hardwearing and tough. Inexpensive DIY-store versions may look flat and lifeless, and the “wood” finish may flake or chip at the edges of the boards.

Vinyl

Vinyl flooring is widely available in timber patterns. Luxury sheet vinyl can be a good choice in the kitchen or bathroom and is considerably cheaper than solid wood. Vinyl plank or block flooring feels harder underfoot but, as each floor is individually designed, it always needs to be professionally laid.

Suitability

  • Timber flooring can be noisy, especially in upstairs rooms; use rugs to deaden the sound of footsteps in busy areas, and always use the insulation suggested by the installers.
  • Reclaimed timber flooring is usually well-worn and is tough enough for most living areas, although you should avoid bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Solid or engineered wood flooring is suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, halls and bedrooms.
  • Laminates are suitable for living areas and bedrooms but avoid rooms with water, as seepage between the joins can cause planks to swell or discolour.
  • Vinyl look-alikes are good choices for bathrooms and kitchens, conservatories and utility rooms, as well as for main living areas.

Styles and Grades

Timber flooring comes as planks (also known as boards), each of which can be made up of a number of strips. A plank with a three-strip design has three narrow strips running the length of the plank. The floor will have a random strip pattern when laid. Planks can vary in thickness, each depth being more suitable for certain bases. For example, the thickest planks, at about 22 mm, can be laid over joists as structural floorboards, while thinner planks, at about 7 mm to 15 mm thick are laid as overlay floors on to an existing smooth, dry sub-floor.

The surface finish of timber flooring is also given a grading. Premium or select grades are smooth, uniform and knot-free. Moving down the scale, grades referred to as “natural” or “rustic” are less uniform and, in many cases, more realistic and appealing. Only order your flooring when you have seen a sample of the exact plank – strip, colour, grade and finish.

Wooden Floors and the Environment

Timber flooring is generally acknowledged to be ecologically sound, providing it is produced using timber from sustainable forests. Reputable stores will only deal with manufacturers who use wood from certified sources. In the UK, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) scheme is widely recognised and includes a certified chain that tracks timber through every stage, from forest to retailer. For further details, visit fsc-uk.info or call (01686) 413916.

Trends

There’s currently a move away from narrow, pale woods, towards darker wood and reclaimed flooring. Oak is a perennial favourite, possibly due to its middle-range colour options, and the fact that it blends with virtually any colour scheme or style.

Extra-wide boards and planks (up to 76 cm wide in some cases) are becoming favourites too, many with distressed finishes such as “smoked” effects. For laminate flooring, choose designs with V-grooves along the long and short edges of the boards, and with textured surfaces, which look far more realistic than completely smooth surfaces.

Longevity and Upkeep

Solid-hardwood flooring is incredibly hard-wearing and will last for many years. It can be sanded down and resurfaced every five to seven years. Engineered flooring will normally withstand one or two sandings, but no more than that. Real wood flooring will age gracefully, and the signs of wear and tear are an acceptable feature – as timber furniture ages and picks up the occasional dent or mark, so will timber flooring. Laminate flooring cannot be sanded when chipped, damaged or scratched, although the best quality ones are very hardwearing and scratch resistant in the first place.

Save timber floors from getting scratched by grit, dust and dirt by regularly sweeping with a soft brush or vacuuming them. Also, mop the floor once a week or so with a well-wrung mop. A detergent can be added to the water, depending on whether the floor has a hard (varnished or lacquered) or soft (waxed or oiled) finish. Hard finishes provide a protective barrier for the wood, and offer a high level of protection, but are more difficult to repair if damaged.

A serious scratch or dent in a lacquered finish usually means the whole floor has to be sanded back and then relacquered or revarnished. Waxed or oiled finishes are softer, and protect the surface by sinking into the wood itself. They’re most successful if you want to nurture an aged, worn look for your wooden floor. If waxed or oiled woods get damaged, the whole floor will not need to be redone, as it is possible to sand back and re-wax or re-oil an isolated area.

Vinyl wood-look flooring is easy to clean; regular sweeping and mopping are all it needs, and scuff marks can be removed by applying a little white spirit using a soft cloth.

Hopefully, this has shed a little light on the advantages of PrintArt and Wooden Flooring. It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

Why Go For Quality Commercial Printing

If you are in any business then you should have some type of ongoing advertising program to be competitive with other businesses that most likely have one. Quality printed advertising media is one of the best forms of advertising that you can use in terms of producing actual results when factored against your money spent.

This means also that you are going to have to come to some sort of decision regarding the quality of the material that you are going to finally end up with. If, for instance, you are throwing a free “kegger” party with your friends and all you need is twenty or so ad sheets to staple to telephone poles around your college campus, then a simple copy machine in the library will do.

However; if you have serious plans on producing commercial results from your efforts then you would be well advised to find a qualified commercial print shop, like PrintArt in McKinney Texas, to produce your material for a number of reasons.

To begin with, PrintArt will have more options available with regards to designing and producing the material that in the end is going to represent your business interest to the public. The fact is, that anything worth doing is worth doing right, and cutting corners will most likely end up costing you in the end.

People are going to prejudge you and whatever it is that is being promoted on your printed material, like it or not and that means that you should always do your best to put your best foot forward when having anything printed up.

This means that the best way to have the best quality print media produced is through a qualified commercial print shop. It is important to bear in mind that a qualified commercial print shop is going to do their best because what they produce reflects directly on them also.

Hopefully, this has shed a little light on the advantages of PrintArt. It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

Commercial Printing Services And The Advantages They Bring

Every marketing campaign you can think of is incomplete without the help of a commercial printing services provider. This is because products or services are best advertised still in customized prints despite the many marketing options offered online.

You might get the impression that brochures, flyers, posters, and sample boards are the only materials categorized under this kind of printing. But if you will study it carefully, there are other things included in it. These are business cards, calendars, envelopes, folders, letterheads, notepads, and planners. Apart from brand recognition, they cultivate loyalty to the company and rapport among the recipient employees.

There are standards that have to be followed when creating marketing materials such as these. The good thing is you need not do everything on your own. Just hire a reliable commercial printing services company to do the task. How do you? First, check out PrintArt in McKinney Texas. Do personal research online to get a clear evaluation of the performance of your prospective companies. Once you have chosen the company to work with, communicate clearly your objectives, your desired output, and the budget you have at hand. Be open to suggestions from your service provider as it may know how your plans can be executed in a better way. For one, its presence in the field for many years is a big proof of the quality work it is famed for.

Again, the benefits offered by commercial printing companies help varied types of businesses. You might be surprised that businesses that appear unlikely to benefit from them actually benefit from them. Firms in manufacturing, publishing, architecture, and interior design are a few of them. Manufacturers, for one, need to get helped on introducing the latest products they have. Their target market gets to know important information on the features, price, proper use, and maintenance of the products through written literature like brochures and leaflets.

The publishing industry would not be able to distribute books, magazines, and other printed materials without the help of these firms. We all know that images especially colored ones require special printing interventions which only experts can provide. In the same way, the production of a great number of books would also be impossible.

Now, how does commercial printing help with the creation of a superb interior design of architectural structures? With the advancements in technology, interior walls can now be patterned with ease in accordance with the intricacies that certain theme demands. Wallpapers can be created following the template displayed on the computer screen. Perhaps, you want your company logo big and wide on the wall. It can be done through this kind of printing.

Lastly, entertainment or show business also benefit from commercial printing services big time. Promotional stuff like posters, tarpaulins, and billboards are all customized to match the theme of the movie or show they advertise. Imagine, say, a billboard of plain text – just the title of the movie. Do you think people will be intrigued to watch it?

Hopefully, this has shed a little light on the advantages of PrintArt. It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

How To Choose The Best Commercial Printing Company

When you have a big printing project that needs to be done in the highest quality possible, and within a specified deadline, you need the services of a reliable commercial printing company like PrintArt here in McKinney Texas. But what if this is your first time to source out such services? How can you select among the dozens of companies you find on the web?

You do not simply hire the first printing company that you encounter or contact, you should have a more stringent selection process. Or at least a list of the factors or traits that you want from a printer.

Here is a shortlist that you can use to help you select the best commercial printing company for your project.

1. It has a 7 Stage Quality Process.

Some printing companies only have less than seven points on the quality control process. A complete quality check procedure from the acceptance of the project to the print production stage up to the packing and shipping stage will ensure that you will get the highest quality of printing services possible.

2. Economical printing services.

This can be made even more available if your printer is larger than most others.  The larger a printing firm, the more business they do and then in turn the better their prices can be on smaller projects.  The quality of the print product remains the same and will not be affected. It is just the cost of the production that will change.

3. In-house design team.

There are times that what you only have is the idea or the copy for your printing project, but not the design or layout aspect of it. This is where an in-house design team of your printing company can come in handy. You can rely on them to create the best possible design for you. And it is often more cost-efficient than if you would hire a separate design artist.

4. Gives you expert printing advice.

Especially if this is your first print outsourcing job, then a lot of the industry terms and standards would definitely be totally new to you. You would probably have no clue as to what paper size or paper stock you need, what color printing services are best for your project, or how you can save more by choosing a certain service or procedure. Your printer should be able to provide you with expert advice on all the aspects of the printing process, and should also be able to help you get your money’s worth.

5. Provides project management services.

A reliable commercial printing company should provide you with a project management service to ensure that your printing requirements are met from the quality of the materials to be used to the actual packing and delivery to your office of the finished products. This kind of service starts when you first contact the printer and they would give you the advice and suggestions on how to go about your project. They may offer design and other related services to ensure the quality of your project, and install the product (if it is for advertising purposes) or deliver it to any destination of your choice.

Hopefully, this has shed a little light on how To choose the best commercial printing company. It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!

Commercial Printing – The 10 Responsibilities of a Printing Customer

What exactly must a customer/client do to ensure the print file is processed accurately? Well, here are some suggestions on how you can go about it. Remember these pointers and ideas so you can very well know what to expect and do the next time around.

1. The client must bear in mind that the file needs to meet the minimum requirements imposed by the printing company. This includes that the file has sufficient bleeds, that is in CMYK, and that the resolution is at least 300 dpi for images and 400 dpi for fonts.

2. The files should come complete with the original images used, also in CMYK, and that the fonts are to be embedded in the file. The fonts should also be sent in, especially if these are not as common as the Arial or Times New Roman font.

3. It is useful to have the files you will be sending in the Zip file. However, it is much better if they are to be in a PDF format as well.

4. You should always include details on your printing project and never assume that a printer already knows everything about your file unless it is a repeat order. Custom print jobs require a much detailed account too of your designs.

5. It is safer to inquire about the final printing cost of your project. Printing quotes are approximations but may change if you have acquired added services or put in last-minute changes. Ask whether your printing cost involves sales tax, handling fees, and the like.

6. If you don’t know much about custom printing, demand to know how the printing company is going to shape your design. What are the processes or risks involved? Know too when or how long your custom printing will project last or be finished.

7. Open up your communication lines. Regularly check your mail and voice mailbox. Printing companies will inform you of updates on your printing transactions, will involve if your printing quotes are available or if your proofs have been sent are awaiting approval.

8. Always check your proofs. Read everything and scrutinize every detail. If you approve it without correcting your own typographical errors, you end up losing the chance to a flawless print job.

9. It also doesn’t help to check the status of your print job. Using the job management portal or if the printing company you chose doesn’t have one, call them up. Ask at which stage your file is going through if it has been ganged, printed, or undergoing cutting and others. This allows you to see if it’ll be shipped on time, among others.

10. Always consider the printing expert’s advice. If the file resolution is too low, you can jeopardize running a blurry print. If the thickness of the line to be embossed is less than 1pt, it may not be as effective and could ruin the print. Weigh in what the professionals are telling you instead of stubbornly saying that things must be done your way.

You can literally forget about your printing project if and when the file you have submitted is well-prepared and required no changes. All you need to do is approve the proof and wait for it to be sent your way.

However, checking on the status of your print job tells the commercial printing company that you expect nothing less. Besides, it is normal to do this especially if you have told them beforehand that you are running after a deadline, especially if it is a rush order print job.

Make sure you get what you need. Print with a reliable commercial printing company and you’re sure to enjoy the rewards of a fruitful partnership.

Hopefully, this has shed a little light on your responsibilities. It can be a fairly complex process but don’t feel overwhelmed, reach out to PrintArt today, and explain your needs.  Their customer service department will put together a cost-effective quote and help your vision come to reality!
